The Princess' Room

Here are some pics of Ella's room. Hers is the only one that is completly done and decorated. So, as I finish more I will post more : ) As many of you know I lived in Alaska from the time I was 12 until I got married and moved away at 21. I LOVE Alaska! So, when I found out we were having a girl I knew I wanted something Alaskan in her room! One of my favorite kid books is Mama Do You Love Me by Barbara Joosse and illustrated by my favorite artist Barbara Lavallee. It's a really sweet and cute book!!

This little Eskimo doll was made and hand beaded by an Alaskan Native.

Ella has a little mirror and two little pegs for her purses

Here is her closet (we really love the look of the doors, all of the doors in the house look like this)

And her ceiling fan, Hunter's is the same only in blue

Her little play table with her doll house

This quilt is of the characters of that book, my mom made it for Ella while
I was still pregnant

This is a close up of the dresser, we got it for $59 it's an old one that
was repainted, it has lots of character and matched the room
perfectly : )

An original painting by Barbara Lavallee

This is a painting my Grandmom got for Ella, the artist had a different baby for every month, so of course she got Ella the August one, it has her name on it and is autographed by the artist. And of course a cross that says Bless this Baby Girl

The crib...

Quilted letter blocks that I did almost entirely on my own (I am not talented so mom had to help me straighten things up.)

Toy box that Chris made for Ella all by himself

Doesn't he do great work??

he also painted the walls with help from his lovely assistant Justin : )
and painted and hung the chair rail

This growth chart is on a wall across from Ella's door
and next to Hunter's. The bunch of banana's at 43 inches is Hunter
and at 32 inches is Ella, measured yesterday : )

And this would be Hunter's door, notice the baby gate,
NO SISTER'S ALLOWED!! Ha ha. It's actually for her
safety, Hunter has a bunk like bed and monkey girl likes
to climb.

Well, that's it for now!!!

What a great room!!! I love the paint choices!! Very pretty! Chris was saying that Shaylin's chair rail was like Ella's too, except Ellas was yellow!! Very cool! I just think it is so cute--very girly!! The toy box is outstanding...had i known i would have had Chris make my kids one--ha!! It looks like a nice big room too! Very nice! Love it! I just love the closet doors too! I wish ours looked like those...ours are just wooden and flat-yuck! Very pretty and good job guys! Love you all, Aunt Tami and family

I'm especially impressed by the toybox--GO CHRIS! That's amazing...he could probably go into business if he wanted to. :)

Too bad Chris's assistant is so whiney......:-) But darn he does good work.

Ella's room turned out great. Riley is over two and we've lived in the same house the entire time and I still have the cross he was given sitting on the dresser instead of on the wall. How sad am I.

I was cracking up that you have Ella's room decorated before other rooms. I am doing the same at our house too. Cayman's is the first room I am working on.

I hope Cayman's room will turn out as beautiful as Ella's has! You did a great job!

So pretty! My sister lived in Alaska for a while and I used to go every year. I lived with her for 6 months (thru the winter) too. I worked for Lee & Laura's soaps (making soap). Did you know that store?

Where did you get that fan we are about to buy fans for the kids' rooms and I love that one!

A very pretty room for a very pretty girl, of course! (Decorated by a very pretty mom, I might add. :)

I'm so glad you guys are getting all settled in your new place. Blog land is so funny... I feel like I can say "I knew them back when they lived in Texas...way back when..." Even if I haven't had the privilege of meeting you guys, I'm so glad to "know" you still. :o)

Love Ella's room. I think this is the first time I've commented on your blog, but my little boy, JEB, has DS. It's so neat to connect with so many different people who have a DS child. Come on over and ck out our page!!!
