Girl Gone Wild!!!

Ella has become very um, adventurous lately. Notice I wrote adventurous instead of naughty. Let's see, last night while I was washing dishes she was at my feet and playing in the cabinet. The cabinet with all the dangerous stuff of course has a child lock. She likes to play in the one with all the canned goods in it, no big deal. So she is talking to herself and playing, then she starts laughing and I feel something weird on my feet. Little miss Ella somehow opened a sealed brand new container of oatmeal, you know a big one and so oatmeal was everywhere. It was quite difficult to clean up. Chris was at work so I had poor Hunter trying to keep her out of the kitchen and she was yelling at him and climbing over him. It was quite the mess!!
This morning I was on the phone with our friend, my mom's realtor Dorothy who was calling to check on my parents. Ella had headed off down the hall so of course I did the quick check and make sure all bathroom doors are shut. She has started to really like playing in her and Hunter's room, which is no big deal. Well I talked for maybe 5 minutes, noticed it was quiet and went to check on the monster baby. Here is what I found.....

She opened the door to Hunter's dresser and pulled out all of his clothes, she was sitting in the middle of it quite pleased with herself! She has also pulled all the stuffed animals (seems like hundreds) and blankets off of Hunter's toddler bed.

Maybe if I just shut the door she won't notice!
Wasn't me!
Her other skills involve her climbing onto Hunter's bed and bouncing. Emptying dirty clothes hampers, climbing onto the couch and bouncing. Pulling the lamp off of the table, knocking over the tall lamp that sits on the floor. And of course climbing up on the printer and pulling things off of the computer desk. Busy girl!!

Standing on the printer

Oh, I could get in so much trouble
with this credit card!!!

She is wearing an outfit from last summer, I'm glad it still fits, but I don't really think it's any shorter on her this year!! She is pretty snotty today so I did my best to keep her hair out of the boogers!
In other news, Ella had her first extra speech therapy yesterday and did great. She said "ball" a couple of times while attempting to make the sign for it. Her speech is starting to take off and she is trying a lot of new sounds. She has also added a few new signs. She now can sign more, eat, all done, baby, dog, book and tries ball. While watching Baby Signing Time the other day they were signing their theme song and Ella was signing baby and time together, it was so cute. Oh yeah, Ella will also just stand up in the middle of the room and take off walking. She has taken up to about 12 steps by herself, so she is close! I'm so proud of my wild child!!!

Hunter has his first T-ball practice tomorrow night, and somehow I volunteered to be the assistant coach for his team, so that will be fun. My parents are supposed to be closing on their house in Alaska today and will begin the long drive down here tomorrow. It will be so nice to have to have some help around here : )

Looks like Ella is having a lot of fun getting into everything! Talk about a girl who gets what she wants! Makes me smile to see her keeping you on your toes! Ha! I have a feeling she is always going to give you a run for your money! I think Hunter has learned to just stay out of her way to keep himself innocent of all charges! Too funny! Hope he has lots of fun in T-ball--hit one out of the park!! I am sure Ella will make the best cheerleader for her big brother! We love you and miss you guys! Love, Aunt Tami and family

I love to hear her antics but I have to say I'm glad I don't have to chace her around. She is one quick girl. I think it is such a hard balance. On one hand you have to be so excited and proud of her that she can do all of those things and then you want her to sit still and stop making a mess. Riley is starting to crawl again and man does he like the bathroom. :-)

Ha Ha. I love how you display Ella's personality. Oh how the stories of her entertains me. I love her shutting the dresser door..and the credit card! How funny! It's so great that Ella is taking off well in her speech. what perfect timing too so she can be a cheerleader at Hunter's games.

This is exactly what I have going on at my house right now! In the last week, Bridget--22 months minus 6 weeks--has figured out how to take off her diaper when it's dirty (wonderful...especially when I'm not standing right there), how to climb up and over the couch, and how to empty my stationery drawer. She also loves to close the cupboards when I notice her getting into them (like..."what? I was never into that!"). I love seeing Ella Grace exploring...developmentally it is awesome...and I also know how exhausting it is :). She is just adorable (as is Hunter!).
