I'm Expecting...

A new baby niece!!! My brother, Dustin and his beautiful wife Marie found out yesterday that they are having a girl!! I'm so very happy for them, they have been planning for a baby for quite some time. I talked to Marie on the phone yesterday and she shared with me her relief that the baby looked great on ultrasound. They had the Triple Screen done a few weeks ago and that too came back great. I have often wondered if they worry about having a child with a disability because of Ella. I know that Ella's type of Down syndrome is not hereditary, but I have to say I would be freaked out. Though quite a while back Marie told my mom that after knowing Ella she knew that they would be able to handle having a child with a disability. But still it's not something that women in their 20's are supposed to worry about, until it happens to someone you know, much less in your family.

My brother has always been great with kids, and it puts a smile on my face to picture him holding his new baby girl. They are going to be such great parents!!! When Ella was born they were both really concerned about her. My brother even came out to Texas when she was just a couple of weeks old, it was so sweet. Here are a few pics from that visit.

Oh, I fell for it! I thought you were going to tell us Ella was going to be a big sister! Hey, being a big cousin is pretty exciting too.

Glad to hear that everything with the pregnancy is going so well. Looking at her parents (and aunt and cousins), your niece is going to be beautiful! How lucky she is to be part of such a great family.

Congratulations to Dustin and Marie! That's great news!

You were very ornery in titling this post the way you did. I thought it was at first saying you were expecting! :oP hehe

Congrats to your little brother! Does that mean you will be visiting GA?!! Love Hunter's shirt, my hubby goes to KSU too!

p.s. I STILL haven't created a blog about my 17mo Jacob with DS. With 6 kiddos I barely have time to check email! I could email ya sometime though.

Congrats to your brother and wife! How exciting you will now have TWO nieces! Ella and Hunter are great cousins and that new baby is going to be so lucky to have them in her life--I know Brendan and Shaylin are. It will be nice that the new baby will be about 2 years apart from Ella, kind of like Ella and Shay are 1 1/2 years apart! They will have such fun together and be great friends! What happy news for everyone! We love and miss you bunches--big kisses--Aunt Tami and family

oh those are amazing photos!
One of my husband's coworkers actually told us that he and his wife are putting off kids in part because of our experience. You never know what life will send you. I had a normal amnio, 18 week and 22 week ultrasound and fetal echos. yet our daughter has a genetic condition related to a single gene AND a heart condition that were not picked up prenatally.
