Songs

I saw this on Renee's blog a couple of weeks ago and thought it was pretty cool. For the rules click here. Basically you just write about a song that you really like, you can include the lyrics, and say why that song means something to you.

I have always had songs that "speak to me" or remind me of a certain time and place in my life. I love words, quotes, songs, books you name it. So, I am going to try to keep up with this as well...... I'll start with a song that I think means a lot to so many of us, and I think I will have to include it on every montage I ever do : ) It is of course Amazing by Janelle.

Basically you can read the lyrics and see why they mean so much to me. The first part where it says "you came like crashing thunder...." makes me think of how Ella's diagnosis was such a big bang, if you will. Then it said "You came with wide eyed wonder into all the great unknown." It reminds me of Ella, she has such big eyes, and she is just so innocent and pure but that her world is so unknown, her health, her development, her future and how the world will percieve her.

I could go on line by line and say what each one means, but I will just sumarize.... I love that is says that "I" will be with you wherever you are, forever and then of course it says how amazing you (Ella) are, and she really is. I remeber the first time I heard it I cried, it still makes me a bit teary when I hear it. Ella has heard it so many times, she loves it, she gets so excited when it comes on!!!

I have to wonder sometimes if writers/singers think about who their songs will speak too. Did Janelle think she would have a huge hit with parents of children with disabilities???
