Quotes

Get It Down; 31 for 21

I was reading Womens Day magazine the other day. The last page always has quotes, I found a couple that I really liked and thought I would share them.

"The future depends on what we do in the present." -Mahatma Gandhi

This quote made me think of the future of children with disabilities, Down syndrome in particular. I think of how far society in general has come in acceptance to our children, and yet how far there still is to go. We as parents and loved ones of children with disabilities really need to fight hard for our kids, and really push to educate people about them. I would hope that one day people (strangers) would look at Ella and just see Ella and not a girl with Down syndrome. I know it's a dream, but how great would that be???

"Many persons have the wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification but through fidelity to a worthy purpose." - Helen Keller

I also liked this one. It's so true!

And the last one for today...

"...We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses blooming outside our windows today."

- Dale Carnegie

i love these quotes. You always have something so inspirational to say. If you don't mind I want to use this last quote in one of my posts I've been thinking of writing. It's perfect.

Those were great. I have come a few others by Helen Keller and Gandhi that have truly inspired me.

I love the last one though.

Those are great quotes! One of my favorite quotes is (although I do not know who said it) "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take out breath away". And of course little missy is "breathtaking"! Love ya's--Aunt Tami

Those quotes are great, very fitting! I love the picture! It reminds me of the one from her birthday party, "When good babies attack!" She is such a cutie!!
