Day 8 - swim lessons

This summer I signed the kids up for swim lessons. I showed up an hour before the registration began to stand in line and sign Hunter up. Ridiculous if I do say so myself. Anyhow while standing in line I get the wild idea to also sign Ella up. When my friend Mary joined me in line to sign up her son Rex I talked her into signing Riley up with Ella! I must say that the kids all did great!!! Ella and Riley exceeded our expectations as usual. They did so good, especially considering they were the only ones in their class that couldn't touch the bottom of the pool and literally had to hang on to the side so that they didn't drown. The teacher was a sweet young guy who was very good with them! Neither Ella nor Riley enjoyed floating on their backs though, so they didn't pass their class, but I am confident that they will master it next summer!!!

A hello hug!

These two really do love each other : )

Ella doing "scoops" with the teacher

Riley scooping too!

A little conversation while waiting their turn
After class
A bye bye kiss

And hug!!

Here is a little video of Ella doing her "bobs!" They are supposed to get their heads all the way under the water when they do a bob, but when you have really short arms that have to hold on to the wall it's hard to do!! She had to wear the obnoxious head band and ear plugs due to some swimmers ear issues....

I love watching videos of Ella! She did great with her bobs! Watching her gives me so much hope for Megan, who is just about a year and 1/2 younger than Ella. I may just have to sign her up for lessons this spring!

Abby hates laying on her back in water too. I think it has to do with her neck and hearing causing balance issues. Where did you find that headband for Ella? I want!

Was just reading some new blogs through links and came to yours. What a lovely little girl. The photos in this entry are so sweet. I must say I chuckled and smiled at these two little friends having a great time together.

I am the mom of 4 and my youngest is an extra special child. He doesn't have Downs but a neuro degenerative disease. My 12 year old will be my forever 4 year old really and his innocent love of life is wonderful!

Have a wonderful weekend and good luck with the month of awareness. You are doing a great job!
